Dear Friend in Christ,
St. Joseph’s Seminary and College, more commonly known as Dunwoodie, has been the seminary of the Archdiocese of New York since 1896. Located in the city of Yonkers in Westchester County, Dunwoodie is blessed to offer a unique experience of priestly formation in the New York area. Our partner dioceses of Brooklyn and Rockville Centre send seminarians to Dunwoodie for formation, as do the dioceses of Bridgeport, Camden, Newark, Paterson, Scranton, and Des Moines. In addition, we are pleased to serve as the theologate for several religious communities and ecclesial movements, such as the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal (CFR) [more...}On September 4, 2024, Bishop Robert Brennan, Diocese of Brooklyn, was principal celebrant for the Mass of the Holy Spirit, our annual Mass of the new academic year.
That same day, reporters from The Tablet and Currents News spent a day with Seminarian Elvis Toribio, learning about him, his vocation, and what life is like at Dunwoodie. Meet Elvis, a wonderful young man, and an excellent seminarian.
The most important thing you can do for St. Joseph's Seminary is to pray for vocations and for our seminarians. Following this, your donations are critical to our present and future.
